  • Below are your baking instructions as well as an overview of how much time you will need from start to eating pie. Bake time will vary depending on your individual oven. Your Bake At Home Pie is raw, unbaked and comes fully egg-washed and sugar dusted.

Prep Time: Approximately 20-30 minutes to pre-heat your oven

Bake Time: Between 70 minutes-90 minutes

    Rest Time: 2 hours

    Total Time: Allow 4+ hours
    INSTRUCTIONS

Place rack in lower middle position and pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees. If you have a convection oven, we recommend turning the convection fan on as it will help bake the pie faster.

Remove your pie from the freezer and remove the plastic covering. Place on a sheet pan and immediately place on the middle rack in your oven. The pie is pre-egg washed and sugar dusted.

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.

Do not open the oven door, but turn the oven temperature down to 350 degrees and bake for 40 minutes until the top starts to golden. After about 20 minutes, you can rotate the pie to help it brown evenly.

Turn the oven temperature to 325 degrees

Continue baking for another 25 minutes and then check to see if your pie is done. (See below for some tips and tricks)

If not done baking, continue baking for up to 15-20 more minutes, checking on it every 5 minutes until it is done. The Blue Ridge Blueberry may take up to an hour at 325 degrees depending on your oven. Look for thick slow bubbles on the blueberry juice.

Once your pie is baked, remove it from the oven and let is cool for 1.5 hours - 2 hours. This resting time allows the juices and filling to come together. If you cut into a freshly-baked pie, it will taste great, but it will be runny and can cause the remaining crust to become soggy.

    INSTRUCTIONS

Place rack in lower middle position and pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees. If you have a convection oven, we recommend turning the convection fan on as it will help bake the pie faster.

Remove your pie from the freezer and remove the plastic covering. Place on a sheet pan and immediately place on the middle or bottom rack in your oven. The pie is pre-sugar dusted.

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.

Do not open the oven door, but turn the oven temperature down to 350 degrees and bake for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, rotate the tray to help an even browning. Keep the oven at 350 degrees and bake for 12 minutes.

Turn the oven to 325 degrees. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. At 25 minutes, take a small knife or a toothpick and through the star cutout at the top of the pie, pierce the apples. It should be tender. You can also take a small knife or toothpick and gently lift the side of the pie away from the tin, the side crust should be golden brown.

If not done baking, continue baking for up to 10-30 more minutes, checking on it every 10 minutes until it is done. If you worry about the top getting too dark, you can place an extra sheet tray on the rack above the pie to protect it from direct heat.

It is not uncommon for it to take 1 hr and 55 minutes to fully bake depending on your oven.

  • To check if your pie is done, take a small knife or a toothpick and through the star cutout at the top of the pie, pierce the apples. They should be tender as though you could cut them with a fork. You can also take a small knife or toothpick and gently lift the side of the pie away from the tin, the side crust should be golden brown. Juice should be bubbling on the side of the pie tin. If you gently tip the pie to the side, a little juice could run out, but if a lot runs out quickly, then it needs more time to bake.

The pie will look golden for a long time. Don’t judge if the pie is fully baked by the color of the crust alone. If you worry the top crust is getting too dark but the apples still need more time to bake, place an empty baking sheet on the top rack.
